Below is a link for a symposium I would love to see a bisexual presence at. "Reparative/Conversion Therapy" (i.e. programs to convert LGBTQ individuals to hetero-normative behavior) is a cruel practice but the bisexual input on this issue seems to be low. If you can make it, please let us know how it was. ~Denise~

Don't forget, Pride is this coming weekend.  It's time to get your Bi-Pride on!!!

BiUnity will be tabling at the Festival on Sunday so come get your bisexual-flare.  We have an assortment of reasonably priced bisexual and LGBT pride jewelry, buttons, etc. for sale... all of which have been provided through your donations of time and money. All the proceeds from sales at pride events are used to facilitate BiUnity's presence at LGBT events in the Philadelphia area throughout the year.  We're usually the only visible bisexual presence at pride events and it is important that we continue to be there.

When: Sunday 6/13/10 from 12pm-6pm
Where: The Great Plaza at Penn's Landing
Festival Admissions: $10

Philly Pride also claims to be providing shuttles from the parade route to Penn's Landing so give them a call to find out where you might be able to get one and save on parking.  For more information on Philly Pride events, please see www.phillypride.org/events.html

[Hey... did you know that the Ben Franklin Bridge will be lit with rainbow lights on June 12th and 13th... pretty cool]

See you Sunday!

What: Bisexuals in the Kitchen - Memorial Day edition
When: Saturday, May 29th - 3pm-8pm

This is both a social event and a teaching event. You have the opportunity to learn how to make a simple summer meal, and you'll get a chance to help create an improvised recipe for the soup. There are openings for a couple people to help prepping the ingredients for each of these, and feel free to bring your questions. Or - feel free to come just to relax and talk and eat.

RSVP to NoCounterspace@gmail.com

Because of the size of the apartment, attendance is limited to no more than 10 people. Minimum number of RSVPs for event to occur is 3.

Hello all,

As many of you know, our much appreciated Skye is moving away from the Philadelphia area. As she had been in charge of several key positions, there's been a bit of a board member shuffle in the last couple of days. The current board members are:
- Communications Officer - Denise Ingram
- List Mod/Merchandise Queen - James Klawitter
- Webmaster/Treasurer - Laura Kolker
- Events Coordinator - Charlotte and Rachael will share this position

Additionally, we made some policy changes in order to simplify biunity's management. The key changes are:
1. BiUnity does not have paid membership going forward. Members are the people who attend events, are on our yahoo group, and who put themselves forth as members.
2. The publicity coordinator and Receptionist positions have been bundled into a single Communications Officer position.
